With computing and applied ICT together the amount of boys is more than those who are girls. The amount of boys who take these subjects where i am studying is 16 and the amount of girls is 6. There is quite a difference here which can show the stereotypical ways of boys and girls.
Males are known to be into technology and business whereas girls are caring and and like to have their own area more than the males. An example of girls being caring can be shown through the health and social care course i am studying as their are 14 girls but no boys!
In 2009 ten times as many boys as girls took Computing A-level: 3,697 compared to 302. This trend continued across the UK. There were 4,256 boys on the course across the country, and 454 girls.
